10 Ways to Increase Your Happiness and Live a Better Life Now!

Are you sick of your life today?

The fact, so are you and thousands of other people. But how do you change it? Do you sometimes wish life had a re-start button? Are you plagued with the idea that if you had only started taking life serious sooner, you could have succeeded? Are you tired of seeing other people live their dreams and make more money than they can imagine? The truth is, as long as your still breathing, you have a choice to manifest the life of your dreams. Be Blessed and Prosper On!

HERE IS A LIST OF MY TOP 10 WAYS TO INCREASE YOUR HAPPINESS IMMEDIATELY!

1. Give gratitude.

Gratitude is defined as the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful.

Just being thankful for what we already have in life, increases our happiness because we will recognize we are already blessed beyond measure. Everyday, before I start all the “craziness”, I take a moment and write a gratitude list, of everything God has already done in my life, my business, my finances, and my relationships.

Remember, you have everything you need to be happy. You just need to recognize it.

2. Decide what you want in life.

Sometimes, we tend to let outside circumstances define our happiness.

In reality, we are in control of our lives and we consciously decides what stays and goes. If something doesn’t make you happy anymore re-evaluate its importance in your life. Recently, I went through some significant life changes while discovering my purpose. During this evolution, I discovered some of my old friendships no longer served me. From a loving place, I ended the relationships that did not serve the new me.

Remember, some people are in your life for a reason, some for a season, and some for a life time. It’s really your choice.

3. Think positive.

I’m sure you have heard this one a million times. (Smiles).

But the truth is, you really have to maintain a positive mindset and outlook on life. Start making it a habit to actively seek out the positive in any experience. It’s not only good for your overall happiness, it’s good for your physical health. Research suggests that happiness even boosts your immune system.

Personally, positive thinking helped me heal from past traumas including a breakup and rejection.

4. Remind yourself how awesome you are!

Every time I get a bit down in life I always remember this scripture, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”(Jeremiah 29:11). Remember, God makes awesome things and that includes you.

Walk past the mirror and say, “who is that awesome person? Oh yeah, that’s me!”

5. Write down affirmations!

I can personally attest to this! Trust me, I have had many of bad days!

Sometimes, I still do! But as soon as I feel it coming and find myself being negative, I write out my 5 must-have affirmations. I suggest you create your ownMine are:

  • I am healthy!
  • I am wealthy!
  • I am abundant!
  • I am a money magnet!
  • Everything I touch turns to Gold!

5. Relax.

The definition of relax is to make less tense, rigid or firm.

Yes, I said it “YOU NEED TO JUST RELAX!
I used to be so tensed all the time, everything had to be perfect, blah, blah, blah. Reality is, I was stressed  out! And then, I got sick. I even had to go the hospital. Guess what my diagnosis was, STRESS! How many of you can relate to this? Just calm down. Take a bath. Light a Candle. Have a Glass of Wine.

Stress will not make it any easier, but relaxing will definitely, make it easier to deal with.

6. Do soulful practices.

The human soul has an unfortunate tendency to lock on to remembering negative experiences and forget the positive ones.

But did you know that you can actually change the way your soul functions? You can actually train your soul to be happier. Soulful practices help us ground ourselves and remind ourselves of who we are and what we are here for. Here is a list of a few soulful processes.

  • Pray.
  • Meditate.
  • Sit in Silence.
  • Take a vacation.
  • Do Yoga.
  • Take a nap.
  • Read.
  • Get a massage.

7. Hang out with happy people.

You ever heard the saying misery loves company!

Okay, so if you want to increase your happiness find yourself some happy friends. Ever heard the saying, “Energy is contagious?” Find a bunch of happy people to hang out with and I am sure you will start feeling better.

I love being around happy people! How about you?

8. Being mindful of the company you keep.

Stay clear of Unhappy People! Let me repeat this again, “STAY CLEAR OF UNHAPPY PEOPLE!”

Energy is contagious!!! Just because you are unhappy doesn’t mean everyone has to be unhappy! Realize who the “Debbie Downers” are in your life and run far away! So, how do you handle this if someone in your household is negative, right? Well, once someone starts complaining and being negative and unhappy. Simply say, “wow yeah that sucks, want some ice cream?”

Just divert the conversation, don’t fall for their bait, because unhappy people will slowly suck all the happy energy right out of you.

9. Create happiness rituals.

Okay, so what exactly are happiness rituals, right?

The word ritual means, “a sequence of activities involving gestures, words, and objects, performed in a sequestered place, and performed according to set sequence.” Essentially, you will need to create happiness habits. Maybe that includes the following:

  • Turn off your cell phone.
  • Disconnect from social media.
  • Take a walk.
  • Watch a funny movie.
  • Listen to some “happy music”.
  • Read a funny book.
  • Watch funny videos on Youtube.
  • Watch some mindless funny tv.
  • Write.
  • Dance.
  • Clean your house.

10. Get help if you need it.

Sometimes, we don’t have all the solutions to everything. Sometimes, we need help!

Sometimes, we need someone to talk to. Sometimes, we need to rationalize our lives. Sometimes, we need to gain a fresh perspective on what is going on in our lives. So instead of overthinking, talk to someone. Overthinking kills. If your environment drives you crazy, hire a painter, hire a housekeeper. It’s okay to treat yourself. If your life is a complete mess, hire a life coach. Investing in your happiness can be one of the best things you ever do.

Happiness is not the absence of problems; it’s the ability to deal with them.” – Steve Maraboli
