Business is good when you are able to comfortably drive it like your car with ease, putting all the necessary factors of success in their right places.
Here are 13 straight tips to help your business flourish like the way you imagine it:
Find a gap in the market and fill it.
Fill it with a service or a product. If there is a problem and you can provide the best solution to the problem, you have found a gap.
Define where you fit in that gap.
Will your product or service fill it or simply a portion of it? If you do the homework you can bring an excellent service or product.
There will be highs and lows.
Personal issues and world issues (weather, war, currency). Foster mental strength to weather the storm. A healthy body also helps.
Find your motivation (what most people call “your passion”).
Are you driven by the money, more free time, control, power? Remember these do not happen for a long time. It will take time to build your business to the point where these perks are born. Why are you doing what your doing?
Time is everything so don’t procrastinate.
Respect yourself by respecting your time. Run your business like you would run a millionaire’s business. If you waste time, it’s possible that you’ve lost money and wasted the opportunity to go one step farther than you could have.
In addition to time, the right place and the right people are important.
Choose where you spend your time carefully and with whom you spend it. Your network = your net-worth means something to the most accomplished in every field.
Be innovative with your ideas.
Think outside the box. Try new things. Go back to the drawing board if need be. Give yourself permission to be as creative as you can be. And ones, you’ve created something!
Test your market and change with it.
After getting creative, test your market. If there is a demand for what you’ve created, fantastic! As demand changes, alter your supply to match. Bring new ideas and fresh concepts.
Maintain mental strength no matter what.
It would be deceitful to tell you the road will be easy. There will be times you want to throw in the towel because the business looks nothing like the business plan. People will say discouraging things. Life circumstances will challenge your passion. No matter what happens, do your best to stay grounded and strong.
Harness the power of silence.
There is something to be said about silence – there is power in it. Power to rest your mind and gain clarity on directions you seek. Find space in your calendar and your home or office for daily moments of quiet. Savour these moments and harness them to work in your favour.
Find the best way to make your work productive. Not necessarily the quickest way but the smartest way to keep you passionate, productive and profitable. What works for someone else may not work for you. Create a routine that works for you and stay consistent with it.
Be tenacious and stay focused.
Tenacity will keep you going when the going gets tough. Tenacity is the inner power that says, “No, I won’t give up!” and keeps going. Focus your efforts on what really works instead of what doesn’t. Sometimes focusing on what doesn’t work is what diminishes resolve and eats away at tenacity.
Love what you do.
If you’re struggling to love what you do, go back to your ‘why’. If you don’t love what you do, when the storms of life blow, quitting will be easier than hanging on.
All the best!
