The organizers added that, Diasporans, are group of people who migrate from their ancestral homeland to another land but maintain active communications between them. There are more than 3% of the world’s populations that have migrated across the globe. Technology has provided affordable transport and communication binding them more closely together. Over 180 million Diasporans across the globe come from Africa, 12.9% of which come from Ghana.
“The diaspora communities make vital but often unrecognized contributions to the progress of their living countries, it is crucial we continue to think about how Ghana can ‘brain gain’ and identify ways in which they can contribute back home. What better way to support those coming back home, than to provide them with jobs and networking opportunities.”
The second annual ‘Diaspora Drive’ will provide a platform for both international and local employers to network with potential employees. There will also be over twenty (20) companies from various industries that are actively looking for talent with international education and/or work experience.
Industries that will be represented include Banking and Finance, Investment, Hospitality, Medical, Agriculture, Food processing, Automobile, Telecommunication, Oil and Gas, Education, Logistics, Construction, NGO’s, Government and Insurance.
In addition, there will be representatives who will provide support on how to set up businesses in Ghana, how to seek accommodation, how to create a bank account, how to leverage on their network, immigration laws/options and how to seek investors for those who want funding towards their initiatives and many more. As well as, an exclusive VIP dinner for special guests and delegates.
