Women Entrepreneurship Film, ‘She Started It’ Screening @ MEST on April 21

MEST is a training program, seed fund and incubator for African entrepreneurs – an organization recognized as one of Fast Company’s 10 Most Innovative Companies in Africa in 2015.
MEST will be hosting a one-time screening of ‘She Started It’ on Friday, 21 April starting at 5pm.
Join MEST for A Special One-Time Screening of the New Empowering Documentary on Female Entrepreneurs; popcorn, big screens and good conversation afterwards!
‘She Started It’ gives a new face to the popular image of the tech entrepreneur: a female face. This documentary / film follows five young women over two years as they pitch to VCs, build teams, bring products to market, fail and start again. It also weaves in big-picture perspectives from women like investor, Joanne Wilson; White House CTO, Megan Smith; and Ruchi Sanghvi, the first female engineer at Facebook.
We are so pleased to announce that this is the first ‘She Started It’ screening in Africa, to raise awareness about the issues women entrepreneurs face, and encourage more young girls and women to consider careers in STEM and tech fields.
This screening, in an informal setting of pillows and popcorn and snacks, will be followed by a Panel and Q&A session moderated by Kelechi Udoagwu, Communications Manager at MEST and Founder of Skrife. The panel made up of influential women in Ghana’s technology and business space will be announced soon.
Join us to inspire the next generation to dream bigger and urge today’s generation to support more women entrepreneurs.
NOTE: This event is open to females only. Sorry guys! We love you but want to spend quality time with other females – who can relate to our struggles. You can go ahead and register, but we will have you on a waiting list till April 18th to allow more women in.
